VIOLETTA BIDA

Violetta Bida is an Olympian, three-time World Champion, multiple-time European Champion, and one of the most accomplished épée fencers of her generation.

Violetta’s journey in elite sports began at an early age. She started rhythmic gymnastics at the age of four, developing the coordination, discipline, physical foundation, and dedication that later became an important part of her success in fencing.

She later transitioned to épée fencing and continued her development under Olympic medalist Valery Zakharevich. Through years of systematic training, discipline, and commitment, Violetta progressed from a beginner to an athlete competing at the Olympic level.

From 2010 to 2022, Violetta was a member of the Russian National Team and competed at the highest levels of international fencing. During her career, she became a three-time World Champion, multiple-time European Champion, World Championship silver medalist, European Championship silver medalist, and Olympian.

Today, Violetta brings her elite competitive experience into her coaching. Her work emphasizes technical precision, coordination, distance and timing, tactical understanding, and consistent long-term development.

Violetta combines high-performance standards with an individualized approach. She considers each athlete’s age, experience, strengths, and goals, helping them build a strong technical foundation, become more confident on the strip, and progress toward increasingly competitive levels.

Together with Sergey Bida, Violetta co-founded Bida Fencing Academy to create a professional training environment in the United States where athletes can develop from their first fencing lessons to national, international, and Olympic-level competition.

In addition to coaching, Violetta oversees marketing, communications, and social media for Bida Fencing Academy. She plays an active role in developing the BFA brand, shaping its visual identity, and building strong communication between the Academy, its athletes, families, and community.

Having experienced the entire competitive journey — from a young beginner to a World Champion and Olympian — Violetta understands the demands of high-level sport and the importance of consistent, purposeful daily training.

Her goal is to help every athlete reach their potential, develop a strong technical foundation, and gain the knowledge, skills, and competitive experience needed to pursue their individual goals.
